Robbie Ballard had one of
the greatest single-season
performances in Emporia
State history during the
2002-03 season. The 6-0
guard led the MIAA
conference in scoring and
was named the conference’s
player of the year. He
became ESU’s first
All-American since 1994 on
the basis of his MIAA
leading 23.3 points per
game, .912 free throw
shooting, and 3.52 made
treys per game.
Ballard played for David
Moe, son of Denver Nuggets
Assistant Doug Moe.In 2003
Ballard was invited to the
Denver Nuggets Rookie Camp.
Most recently Ballard has
been a JV and Varsity
Assistant at Douglas County
High School as well as
coaching several competitive
youth teams. Ballard is
also highly involved in
private workouts, teaching
individual skills and
helping kids understand the
game.
